I do see the different trends today in how people view art, how people look at our art and reproductions it is different from many years ago are because they did not have cameras back then. The way we view art is when it is reproduced for example in books or magazines, album covers. When the art is at our fingertips we don’t see it like we would if we would go into a museum and see the original. Benjamin describes us only seeing the art as entertainment, the product is convenient and easy for us to get to, so we are not absorbing what it has to offer. Cell phones have made it easier for more reproduction to be done and therefore people are most likely never going to see the original, let alone go somewhere to see the original, besides art lovers. Times have changed since when he wrote the essay where people have been using social media and accessing anything at a click of a button. What he says in the essay demonstrates some of how the world is today with the reproduction of art, you can look up any artwork, a photo of the original piece just to glance at it or use it for a project not taking it in as you would be in a Muslim. People now view art as just internment and not for what it is, a piece of artwork the reproductions minimizes that, especially since the technology is getting better and better.
